Some Xiaomi phones can now be updated to Android 12
Xiaomi has started updating some of its phones to Android 12 through the MIUI beta, despite the fact that Google has not yet released the final version of the next big Android update.
The final version of Android 12 will not arrive until a few weeks later, but Xiaomi has decided to pave the way with the beta versions of MIUI based on Android 12, which in recent days have begun to reach a total of six different devices.
Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 12 versions for its latest high-end models. Currently, the devices of the Mi 11 and Redmi K40 series are already compatible with the new version of MIUI. The full list of phones receiving Android 12 is as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 11
- Xiaomi Mi 11i
- Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro
- Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro+
Additionally, it should be noted that the beta is only enabled in China, where some users can stick to the internal beta program to test Android 12 on their Xiaomi smartphones.
In any case, Xiaomi is expected, sooner or later, to open the registrations for the MIUI Global beta program based on Android 12, before starting to distribute the update among the mobile phones in its catalog globally.
