Twitter begins testing Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows features

Twitter has begun limited testing of its Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces features, where US-based users will be able to apply separately for each program through the Twitter mobile app. Super Follows is limited to iOS, while Ticketed Spaces is available on iOS and Android.

According to The Verge, Twitter will select a small group of users to test the new monetization features Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces, both announced earlier this year, so that the Super Follows feature allows users to collect $2.99 or $4.99. Or $9.99 per month for access to exclusive content, while Ticketed Spaces lets them charge between $1 and $999 to access one of the Twitter social audio rooms, and offers additional features like room-size caps. Users can see if they are eligible to apply by selecting the new “Monetization” option in the mobile app sidebar.

On the other hand, test group participants will initially keep 97 percent of the money they earn using Ticketed Spaces or Super Follows, after fees charged by iOS and Android for in-app purchases. Twitter will increase its discounts from 3 percent to 20 percent if the user makes a total of $50,000 on both platforms.

Commenting on the topic, Principal Product Manager Esther Crawford tweeted: “We want to make sure that emerging voices are able to earn money, which is why they will be eligible to earn a larger share from the start. … earning more than $50k from followers shows Distinguished Ticket Spaces that you get value from these features and they help you achieve success.”
